The Pediatric Tuberculosis Treatment Department is the only one at national level with authority for the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in childhood, as well as for conducting screening and testing of children suspected of tuberculosis. The department carries out screening for children who had contact with a person with active tuberculosis. Children with post-vaccination reactions from the BCG vaccine are also monitored and treated.
